Calligraphy is the art of appreciating harmony through proportions. It has its roots back from the age of ideograms and pictograms and has been developing ever since. Western Calligraphy and Arabic or Islamic Calligraphy are two prevalent and age old traditions of beautifying text. Western Calligraphy is tended to make an art that anyone can practice where as Arabic Calligraphy is considered as a major art form. Individually they are two strong mediums of artistic writing. The challenge here is to infuse these two styles together in terms of their techniques and make a new fusion Arabic typeface.
